Suspension & Lift for the Chevy Silverado

"Lift" means two very different things on a Silverado. A leveling kit just raises the front an inch or two to erase the factory nose-down rake and clear a slightly taller tire — cheap, bolt-on, and no driveline drama. A true suspension lift of four inches or more reworks geometry and usually needs longer shocks, a differential drop, extended brake lines, and a fresh alignment. Decide which one you actually want before you buy a single part.

Ride quality lives in the shocks. Worn factory dampers let a half-ton wallow and porpoise over expansion joints; a set of quality monotube shocks — or a coilover up front — transforms a high-mileage Silverado. On the HD trucks, sagging rear leaf packs and clunking upper control-arm bushings are the classic wear points to check first.
